maury's Questions

The Ariens ® Exclusive 900 Series Polar Force™ engines offer uncompromised power and displacement resulting in easier and faster removal of all types of snow.

type oil for 900 series polar force engines?

I have an Ariens snow blower with a Model 120000 "Snow Series" engine.

Nowhere in the manual or the snow blower specifications does it say what type of oil should be used - in either the engine manual or the snow blower user manual. I found the "900" series engine on your site, which looks to be the same engine - 205 cc, but again, no oil info.

Presumably, 30w is not recommended. I am guessing when it's cold enough to be using a snow blower, it would rarely be over 38 F, so would 5w 30 be OK? Is Synthetic OK to use? I have a bunch of high end synthetic (Amsoil) 10w-40 I use for something else. Would it be OK to use that?

I'm surprised one of the most obvious maintenance recommendations wouldn't be spelled out.
