Why will it not continue to run?

I have a Chore Master Power washer. It starts but will not continue to run. It appears to use the gas I prime to the carborator then stops. It seems like the gas line is clogged. Is this a common problem? I run the unit dry each time I put it away. Could this have caused the problem. How can I fix it. Would an additive clear the gas line?
