MikeB's Questions

Used for pressure lubricated engines (most Intekā„¢ and Vanguardā„¢ OHV engines and selected L-head twin cylinder engines). Contains oil filter (492932S). Briggs & Stratton Genuine Part Designed specifically for our engines and can save on costly repairs while maintaining valuable warranty coverage.

I have a 20HP Intek single cylinder burnig oil

The engine is 2 years old. I made a mistake and put some lightweight oil in it and have since correted it with 30 sae.. Still burns oil, is it possible I have the wrong oil filter on it, no numbers on it. Could the wrong filter cause a crankcase pressure issue resulting in oil consumption? My next steps in this order is..1. crank case breather reed valve. 2. Head Gasket 3. Oil rings and wiper.. Do u agree in the steps in that order.. I really hate to go overboard if a filter could cause the problem..
Thanks
Mike
