I purchased a toro mower which has this motor in it earlier this year. I ran the break in oil for about 5 hours, and switched the oil out for mobil 1 5w-30, and it runs like a champ! It starts on the first pull every time, and powers through grass without even slowing down. Though I can't comment on the long-term reliability just yet, I believe that it should last many years to come. Definitely recommend!

Just bought a 725ex Series Briggs & Stratton on a Brute mower. I was wandering what the horsepower of this motor is?

Small motors now carry torque ratings as apposed to the horsepower ratings they carried years ago. This motor provides 7.25 torque lbs. I believe that this now is the standard for rating small motors
