IMMDOC's Questions

The Professional Series™ engines were designed to be best-in-class combining power, performance, features, and size. These engines offer consumers and professionals commercial-grade features including easier starting, smoother and quieter operation, increased durability, and longer life. ReadyStart ® is standard on all Professional Series engines.

Can I convert my 850 professional series engine to restart when warm, in cold weather.

The engine floods every time when trying to restart a warm engine in cold weather. I have it on a wood splitter and use it all winter. It starts fine at the start of the day, but if you shut it off briefly to move it, fuel it, take a short break, whatever, it will be flooded unless you stick your finger under the cowling to manuallly hold the choke open and have someone else pull the start cord.
Can I convert this to a manual choke?
Is there a different choke well that will not cool off so fast as to cause premature choking? I have tried to adjust the choke rod and it got some better, but not much. I can not run this motor alone because of this starting problem.
