Unstoppable
We have an MTD Edger with a 3HP horizontal B&S engine on it. We got it from my Grandfather, the jack of all trades in the family, who fixed it up and gave it to us. We've had it for about twelve years now, and when I was old enough to realize the importance of clean oil, I asked my father when its last oil change was. This was about two years ago. He said it had never been changed since we received it. So I went out, got a bottle of thirty weight, and changed the oil. It ran no different. Which means it ran like a champ before and after the change. I did a little more research, and found out it was built in 1980. It is now 32 years old, and runs like a champion, all though it won't run on wheaties, HA HA. It has had a new spark plug every year since, and for good measure, a new head gasket. It has its days when it will not start for crud, but after a couple more pulls of the string, and a little faith, she'll fire right up. I plan on keeping her a part of the family for many more years to come.

"Hello, I am writing to tell you about my Craftsman mower with a Briggs engine. During the recent Nor'easter that hit the east coast, my yard flooded. It was not only from the rain, but from the rising tide. This filled my shed with sea water. My mower was under 3 feet of salt water for three days. After the water subsided, I changed the oil, replaced the gas, filter and sparkplug. I pulled the cord one time and the mower started and mowed my lawn like it was brand new. Not many things are manufactured very well these days, but your engines are amazing. Thank you!" hide full story
