My model # 9T5021428B110034 Will not come up as a valid engine on
The Briggs & Stratton Web Site. The user manual I have for the engine shows two possible oil drain locations & neither one exists. I called the Southern States Store where I bought it & was told that as far as they knew the oil had to drained by emptying the gas tank & turning the mower upside down to drain the oil from the oil fill plug. I also called & talked with a B&S representative & he confirmed that the oil could only be drained from the fill plug. I have used B&S engines for years & this is the first I have owned that did not have a bottom oil drain plug. In my opinion this is a very poor design from a maintenance point. Unless this
poor design is corrected this will be my last B&S engine. Also had trouble 1st month would not start & had to take back to dealer for repair & my grass just kept growing.

Consoil changing is a bummer
No, I do not recommend this product.

Does 450 series push mower have a throttle control?

I ask this question as I own this mower and its seems to have throttle control fitted (marked "J" in the manual) but not attached to any spring or wire. I am having a few problems with mower cutting out and wonder if this is the problem. I have owned the mower for 4 months and used it about 10 times . As you can probably tell I am no mechanic!
I have a 450 series myself & as far as I know there is not a throttle control. I also found that the only way to drain & change oil is to turn the mower upside down & drain from the fill plug, so naturally you will
need to drain or run gas out before changing. I had trouble within one month of purchase & had to go back for warranty repair. My manual says Throttle control (if equipped) I'm no mechanic either but I can change oil & this engine is sorely lacking in that department. I wrote review on B&S Web Site & complained about the poor design. I would not buy this engine series again!!.
