I obtained my mower about six years ago. The engine as been running nicely for all that time with one minor problem. The carburetor float was letting fuel fill the cylinder and even the crankcase. First I installed a fuel shutoff in the fuel line. Later I disassembled the carburetor and found the needle valve misaligned with the float, but I replaced the float anyway.
The main reason for the downgrade on reliability is due to a muffler problem after I first purchased the mower. It worked fine for a few weeks but then I noticed that the muffler bolts loosened up and the exhaust eventually burned the headlight wiring and melted the front grill and one of the headlight housings.
The warranty was not honored.
I had to purchase a new muffler which was completely different from the original along with the grill and headlight housing.
Yes, I recommend this product.

What is the valve clearance for each valve

gas getting into oil
My crankcase was filling with gas in between weekend gas cutting jobs.
Temporarily I installed a gas shut off in the gas line and that worked fine.
Asking around about what might be the problem, I was told that the needle valve in the carburetor was probably sticking allowing the gas to flow into the cylinder and then past the rings into the crankcase.
When I took the carburetor apart I found the needle valve misaligned with the contact on the float keeping the needle from completely seating.
I installed a new float anyway since I had it.
